The United States firm S3 Technologies is expected to provide the technical lead for full-scope simulators for South Ukraine Units 1 and 3. Both units are
VVER-1000
reactors. The simulator development for Unit 3 is proceeding more rapidly, with the contract scheduled to be awarded in September 1996. Completion is expected at Unit 3 in April 1999 and at Unit 1 in July 1999.
